Recipe – Honey Cake

Honey Cake is a traditional dessert for the Jewish New Year, helping to ensure that the new year will be a ”sweet” one.
honey cake slices
4 eggs
1 cup honey
1 cup coffee, cooled to room temperature
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour

Beat eggs.  Add honey, coffee, oil, and sugar. Mix well.

Sift together baking powder, baking soda, and flour.

Mix all ingredients together.

Pour into greased loaf pan.

Bake in 350° oven for about 1 hour.

Top with slivered almonds.

    we made this honey cake, and it rose and overflowed all over the oven
    you’ve no idea!
    but after some salvaging, the cake came out amazing!
